Matt is the Founder and Managing Partner of Forward. Prior to starting Forward, Matt was a Partner in the Flagship Fund at L Catterton, the largest consumer-focused private equity firm in the world. At L Catterton, he invested in brands including Cholula, Kodiak Cakes, Everlane, Inspired Pet Nutrition, and others.

Matt is also Co-Founder and Chairman of Via Carota Craft Cocktails, a ready-to-serve cocktail brand inspired by the beloved West Village restaurant. He has also worked as an investor at Irving Place Capital and Lake Capital, a brand manager at Procter & Gamble, and an investment banker at J.P. Morgan.

Matt graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a triple major in Mathematics, Psychology, and Quantitative Economics. He received an M.B.A. with Honors from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, with a dual concentration in Finance and Marketing.

Beyond Forward, Matt loves snowboarding, baseball, music (especially hip hop), and above all else, being with his wife and two children.
